Last night The Piano Guys took to the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham before an enthusiastic sold out audience, playing their amazing YouTube videos to showcase their musical and entertaining talent. Following that Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson performed their debut set of mashups featuring bagpipes.
Audience members of all ages were thoroughly entertained by this performance from beginning to end, singing along, laughing out loud, dancing to the music that they produced and applauding when their show concluded with a standing ovation! What started in Utah piano store with an aim of providing business for one of their producers Paul Anderson has now become an international phenomenon!
Before The Piano Guys were an international sensation, Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson were performing private gigs around Southern Utah until store owner Paul Anderson approached Schmidt with the idea of creating videos together to post on YouTube. Along with music producer Al Van Der Beek and videographer Tel Stewart they quickly began posting weekly videos, garnering fans all across social media platforms such as YouTube.
The Piano Guys have since found success by taking their show outside of concert halls and into nature and other exciting settings like China’s Great Wall of China for stunning video footage that has amassed them an international fan base and yielded both classical and new age hits.
