Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have earned themselves a place as two of the greatest roots rock musicians of their generation, earning multiple platinum albums together as one unit that brings the best elements from blues, funk, swamp boogie and collaborative songwriting together with stunning vocals to produce music that has won them widespread acclaim.
The band kicked off their performance by diving into their Layla bag – an homage to the Persian poem about star-crossed lovers that inspired their latest album.
The band explores an expansive musical terrain, from soulful gospel to rock anthem. Their debut album Revelator won them both a Grammy and Blues Music Award as one of the premiere live shows on tour.
Trucks was 19 when he joined the Allman Brothers Band and took on Duane’s legendary drum seat; since then he has proven adept at filling big shoes. His virtuosic guitar playing and Tedeschi’s majestic vocals stand out while not overshadowing all other talents present onstage.
Onstage, this 12-piece band exudes an infectious energy that’s hard to replicate in a studio. Vocalists Mark Rivers and Alecia Chakour add depth to the mix while Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell and JJ Johnson handle drums and percussion respectively. Keyboardist Gabe Dixon rounds out this ensemble as do members of Kebbi Williams’ Saxophone Section; Ephraim Owens on Trumpet; Elizabeth Lea (Trombone).
Blues rock fans were stunned when Susan Tedeschi (an Boston native) and Derek Trucks (guitarist for Allman Brothers Band) launched Tedeschi Trucks Band full-time in 2010. Since then, one of rock music‘s most acclaimed live acts.
Their daily lives may not be as hectic as that of other musical titans, yet still require enormous hard work. Their music is soulful yet hopeful with an undercurrent of hopelessness that’s offset by joyful energy of their live shows.
Tedeschi graduated from Berklee College of Music, and quickly found her voice with the band she led before marrying Trucks in 2001. Together they have shared stages with John Mellencamp, B.B. King and the Rolling Stones; Phil Lesh & Friends as well as Farm Aid performances. Tedeschi made waves upon debuting her debut album Just Won’t Burn in 1998 which made waves throughout music circles and set expectations high; an expanded 25th anniversary edition was issued via Fantasy Records later that same year.

Susan Tedeschi was raised listening to her father’s collection of blues records before delving deeper into Boston’s vibrant musical scene by studying at Berklee College of Music – meeting fellow slide guitarist Derek Trucks of Allman Brothers Band fame during this time.
Together in Florida in 2010, this duo created a soul-indebted ensemble. Comprised of various touring and studio members who come and go throughout each tour and studio session, Revelator released in 2011 introduced fans to the stirring soul stylings of its core members; from organ swells to acoustic shuffles their music is truly a musical journey!
Mike Mattison is a soulful R&B and Funk artist renowned for captivating audiences with his captivating performances. His talent of mixing infectious beats, deep melodies, and meaningful lyrics create an inexorable bond with his audience that cannot be broken.
He is an accomplished journeyman singer with stints in the Derek Trucks Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Scrapomatic bands. Additionally he is a published essayist – having published Poetic Song Verse: Blues-Based Popular Music and Poetry as his work of literature.
He guides a rhythm section comprised of bassist Brandon Boone, drummer Tyler Greenwell and keyboardist Isaac Eady with ease, while Kebbi Williams (sax), Troonist Elizabeth Lea (trombone) and trumpeter Ephraim Owens (trumpet) all share moments in the spotlight.
