These events offered young songwriters an invaluable chance to showcase their work to producers and industry executives; ultimately one session led directly to Trainor obtaining her first publishing deal and helping launch her career.

Trainor has become known for her throwback sound. Her debut EP Title features 1950s doo wop-inspired songs that span modern R&B and melodic pop, drawing comparisons between her work and Brill building composers such as Goffin-King and Greenwich-Barry.

Trainor has made her mark as both a singer and author, writing Dear Future Mama as a humorous yet honest look into pregnancy and motherhood.
