Maggie Rogers of Maryland rose to prominence when her song Alaska was played for Pharrell Williams at his master class at Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2016. Alaska quickly went viral, increasing streaming numbers dramatically and kickstarting her career. Both 2019 major-label debut Heard It in a Past Life and 2022’s Surrender both charted, while Maggie attended Harvard Divinity School while touring extensively between them.
Her first three albums explored various styles, with avant-folk songs like Embers and Creatures; classical piano/string arrangements in Wolves & Satellite; and intimate acoustic performances on Blood Ballet.
