Isabelle Rezazadeh, also known by her moniker REZZ, is an adept producer with the art of captivating audiences. Her captivating live shows have garnered her a cult-like following and earned her the reputation as a master of midtempo electronic music.
REZZ released her initial EPs through Skrillex’s NEST HQ in 2015 and went on to create two critically-acclaimed LPs (Mass Manipulation and Certain Kind of Magic) on deadmau5’s mau5trap label in 2016.
REZZ has quickly established herself as one of the most recognizable names in electronic music despite only recently entering the scene. Her music can best be described as techno-meets-dubstep; dark and intense in its soundscape. REZZ maintains her independence by producing all tracks herself without using ghost production services or outsourcing anything out.
REZZ first gained notoriety for her music when she released two of her EPs – Insurrection and The Silence Is Deafening on Deadmau5’s label Mau5trap. Since then, two further EPs, Mass Manipulation and Something Wrong Here have solidified REZZ’s signature sinister downtempo bass sound which she pairs with signature swirling LED goggles to create immersive experiences which have earned her many admirers.
REZZ’s 2024 album Can You See Me displays her in a different state of mind. Featuring intricate sound design and hypnotic beats that deviate from her earlier midtempo work, Can You See Me is evidence of REZZ settling into more relaxed outlook on life which has helped her find balance with touring schedules and her personal life.
REZZ defies expectations by crafting beats in her bedroom to becoming a festival queen – and is revered for her dark yet hypnotic sounds that transcend genres. Famous for her iconic goggles and captivating stage presence, she stands alone as an original artist with her own sound universe.
REZZ quickly rose to fame following her release of ‘The Silence Is Deafening’ EP through deadmau5’s mau5trap imprint in 2016. This EP proved transformative, catapulting her to the forefront of electronic music where she has remained ever since.
REZZ is an experienced collaborator, teaming up with artists such as Fknsyd, Quackson and Subtronics on crunching tracks like Black Ice and DYSPHORIA. However, unlike some producers who remain mysterious with fans to maintain an air of mystery surrounding themselves, REZZ loves sharing her creative process with fans – often opening herself up for collaboration at live shows or studio sessions alike – and creating genre-spanning releases packed with distorted synths, staccato beats and immersive sound design.
REZZ’s music is dark and hypnotic, creating an ominous ambience with her intricate build-ups, distorted basslines, and meddlesome melodies. A master of genre blending, she has amassed an extensive following who have experienced her distinctive sonic worlds.
Mau5trap protege Gesaffelstein has had a profound effect on Mau5trap protegee Gesaffelstein, as evidenced by her musical style combining traditional techno and industrial electro.
REZZ embraces self-reliance and doesn’t use ghost producers; her tracks are created independently or collaboratively with other artists.
REZZ has long been a fan-favorite on Insomniac’s stages. She kicked off 2024 at Exchange LA with a sold-out show, and will continue her reign across various venues nationwide throughout 2024.
Rezz’s music defies categorization, combining rock influences with her signature bass-heavy style to form the new genre of “rocktronic.” She often replaces melody and harmony with sparse yet engaging ideas that phase over each other to serve the beat, garnering her a massive following that has enabled her to sell out major festivals and build her imprint, HypnoVizion.
Rezz has earned her place at the forefront of EDM music by her willingness to collaborate with other artists, an increasingly common trend. She has worked with an eclectic roster of talent from hip hop legend HOLLY to Subtronics as well as rock musicians such as Tim Henson from Silverstein’s and Zed’s Dead from Polyphia’s Zed’s Dead – to name but a few!
Rezz’s 2016 EP “The Silence Is Deafening” catapulted her into the top ranks of bass music, creating what has since been known as ‘The Cult of REZZ”. Since then, with her most recent offering “Beyond the Senses”, Rezz has extended herself even further.
