Dom Dolla, also known by his stage name Dominic Matheson, is an Australian DJ/producer renowned for creating forward-thinking hypnotic house music heats that have taken the world by storm. Raised in outback Northern Australia, Dom first fell in love with dance music after receiving his mother’s gift of Basement Jaxx’s 2001 album Rooty when he was 14. Soon thereafter he made himself known on Melbourne club scenes where his high school classmates hosted pub-discos or DJed at weekends – eventually leading him to abandoning security to pursue music full time as his focus became unwavering; abandoning corporate jobs altogether to fully focus on producing and performing.
Early releases by Australian producer Jaxon included 2017’s deep and groovy ‘Be Randy’ alongside Torren Foot and 2018’s trippy bubbler, ‘Take It’ — demonstrated his skill for feel good dance music. Elastic dynamics and memorable hooks combined with breezy sense of fun were hallmarks of his debut singles that caught the ears of tastemakers across the world. Remixes for Purple Disco Machine’s ‘Body Funk’; PNAU’s Chameleon; RUFUS DU SOL’s Rasberry Rhyme Dust; Dua Lipa’s Don’t Start Now which have garnered over 13 million streams to date.
As a touring artist, Dom’s unparalleled popularity has seen him sell-out shows across Australia and North America. Last year alone saw him play over 125 performances globally prior to COVID-19 pandemic – including performances at Coachella, Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, Electric Zoo New York City, Spring Awakening Chicago.
Dom Dolla’s latest single ‘Saving Up’, now available via Three Six Zero Recordings, promises to light up dance floors while encouraging listeners to make time for themselves and their loved ones. Available everywhere.
