Additionally, he created and hosted the iHeartRadio-award winning podcast Films to Be Buried With (featuring guests discussing movies that have had an influence over them).
He’s bringing his one-man show, The Second Best Night of Your Life, to Milwaukee this March and fans will get to witness him show all his stuff–on stage, right in front of people! Goldstein will answer audience-submitted questions prior to the performance and although some might be more wholesome (such as whether or not he would kill Gonzo, Oscar the Grouch or Beaker), his dirty responses will still prove hilarious!
Brett Goldstein is an impressive British creative force both on and off screen. Kent Goldstein’s outlandish wit and propensity for cursing have propelled him into stardom and earned him numerous accolades – two Emmys (with another in the works!). Additionally, he is the creator of popular comedy show Shrinking.
He exudes an easy confidence that allows him to walk onto the stage topless without feeling awkward, as well as draw audiences in with quiet charm throughout his stories. His material may often be provocative yet never offensive and this skill will be on full display during Milwaukee stop of “The Second Best Night of Your Life Tour,” scheduled for March 23 at Riverside Theatre.
Goldstein has won two Emmys for his portrayal of Roy Kent on Apple TV+’s hit series Ted Lasso, currently in its third season. Known for his frequent use of “fuck”, Roy is one of television’s most divisive yet beloved characters.
Onstage, Goldstein uses his humor to take on topics from racism to men’s stereotypes – with no gratuitous or offensive profanity used during his act. Furthermore, he hosts the popular iHeartRadio podcast Films To Be Buried With where he discusses movies with guests.
Goldstein is an avid admirer of Jim Henson creations like the Muppets and Pride and Prejudice – appearing on Sesame Street and sitting down for an EW interview with them as part of The Muppet Christmas Carol cast. Additionally, he pitched an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice featuring Muppet characters for EW publication; we can’t wait to see it! He will embark on his comedy tour beginning March 2019.
Brett Goldstein’s effortless charm has propelled him to prominence both onscreen and off. As co-executive producer and writer for Bill Lawrence’s Peabody Award-winning Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso, in which he plays fan favorite Roy Kent (a bearded sportscaster who often uses the phrase, “fuck”) he is one of its leading creative forces both behind-the-scenes as well as in front of it.
He wrote and directed the 2016 BIFA-winning film Derek and appeared in Channel 4 comedy Drifters. Additionally, Goldstein created and hosted an award-winning podcast called Films to Be Buried With, where special guests candidly discuss how movies have had an influence over them in life.
Goldstein, an experienced swimmer, possesses the unique talent of engaging with audiences both underwater and on stage. He draws audiences in through his open, honest approach to comedy which is both refreshing and relatable; so much so that Variety named Goldstein one of their Top Ten Comedians to Watch for 2023.
