On Saturday’s Slope Day show in the Bronx, Bronx rapper Shaggy opened by remembering Nipsey Hussle and encouraging attendees to keep his memory alive before proceeding into an upbeat, energetic set.

Artist Dubose, better known by his stage name A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, began writing rhymes during junior high school after gaining inspiration from seminal rap artists like Kanye West and 50 Cent. By senior year he had found his place of residence in Highbridge section of Bronx; performing on local mixtapes as well as participating in cyphers throughout town.
In 2016, his debut mixtape, ARTIST, propelled him into the public eye and earned him a place on XXL’s Freshman Class list and an opening act slot on Drake’s Summer Sixteen Tour. Later that same year, The Bigger Artist made its major label debut followed by Hoodie SZN later that same year.
Hoodie SZN marked an evolution for him musically; 2018’s Hoodie SZN showcased this change by adopting a harder style with more boasts while still offering melodies with an element of swagger. 2019 saw further popularity growth; Hoodie has featured on releases by 6ix9ine, Juice Wrld and Offset among other artists.
